Thank you all very much for my lovely hamper and your enthusiasm on Thursday night...it was great to see so many there...and I was so relieved that the timing on the runs worked out!! Well done all on your run....I think that I may have mentioned how well you have all done before....To recap we have collectively run more than 374.16 miles training nights in the last ten weeks or so...Amazing huh!! Penny and Freya have been my right hand women over those weeks coming along and so willingly doing whatever was suggested of them so once more...thank you to them.

The Intermediate group have had a great season with the PB's crashing for Toby,Fiona and Penny ( 10k ) and Liz and Alison (1/2 marathon). Toby came second Junior overall in the Glasgow 10k series and first junior at the MOK 10k. Penny took on her first half and cruised in under the two hours. New members Jackie and Aly are headed for The Glasgow 10k whilst Wendy is stepping up to the 1/2 marathon so happy training all and Good luck!!
SUMMER HOLIDAYS
We are continuing to meet over the summer at 7pm so PLEASE keep up the good work and we shall have some great runs out together.The runs will all be at a pace you are happy with, any suggestions for routes of between 3-5 miles very welcome. When the run is longer some do all of it and some do part so no need to worry!  We will meet at 7PM and if you could let me know if you are not coming so we can get off smartish. The training nights re-commence when the schools go back but it is really important not to slip during the summer and have to start again....See you Thursday!

End of Session run....Furnace/Claonairigh/Caravan Park to The George
Furnace Folk...meet at 6.30 or if poss just before as set off as soon as possible.
Claonanirigh Clan...meet at 7pm and set off at 7.10
Caravan Park Crew...meet at 7.30...set off by 7.35.
PLEASE CHECK now for the others in your group and wait for everyone in your group to arrive. PLEASE LET ME KNOW in good time if you are not coming so we are not waiting...You don't have to all run as a pack but we need to make sure everyone knows the way(s). Karen and Wendy..I have not got you down yet for a distance? Please remember to coordinate re lifts/ cars etc. The deal at The George is I will book the table but please keep track of what you order! Any questions just get in touch with me direct before next week...

Thank you all so much for working so hard last Thursday...it was great to see you all come over the raher makeshift finishing line in such fine form and you all got fantastic times, now we have a bench mark to work on...shame it was so wet that i darent stand longer with the increasingly more soggy time sheet so here they are......

Such progress in eight weeks!!

Eight weeks ago it was a bit of a struggle to run a minute and now....fifteen minutes last night in fantastic style and even managing to breathe and talk at the same time..well done all of you. The run back was pretty good too...almost continual running there too.
 The total mileage was 3.0 not 2.2...for some reason the GPS stopped when we stopped on the way past the water works.

Mull of Kintyre 10k and 1/2 marathon

Well the PBs went crashing on Sunday with a fine turnout from the Inverarary js group. Toby was in fine form and did the 10k course faster than last year in a time of 38.38 and secured the place of 5th overall and 1st male junior...I was home in 54.22 and Fiona set her new Pb in a slightly frustrations 1.00.34! the 1/2 marathoners did a fabuolous job despite the very windy conditions with Liz setting a new PB too at a fabulous 01:52:20 and 5th in her category, Penny set herself a great time in her first 1/2 making in under 2 hours at 1:59:20, next back was Kirsten getting into training for the big 26 miler with a time of 02:02:05 and then Alison knocking a fabulous 18 MINUTES off her PB to come over the line smiling in 2.20.04. A great event and great pastries!!

We planned to run a mile...no stopping...

and run we did! Everyone made the mile in great style, What a great improvement in such a short time...and a little introduction to our training buddy Fartlek! So a slightly shorter mileage (2.72) but very consistent running and every week you get better and better!

 Group two was short on members this week with a big race on Sunday for most of us but Rosie, Freya, Fiona and I had a very pleasant run (3.74) out past the sweetie seat that is no more...... It is fantastic to see so many taking part in The Mull Of Kintyre events on Sunday...we too have come a long way (no pun intended!).

 Dates For The Diary

21st June....End of Session Event for Group One (can't really be called beginners any more). Please try to make it if you can and celebrate your achievements together.  If any Intermediate members can come along at 6.10 to help please let me know.

28th June.... End of session event for Intermediate Group. Run from Furnace to Inveraray...7.5 miles from the Quarry to the George! This time we will have staggered starts i.e. the fastest setting off last so I will let you know a start time when you have given me the following information:-
 1) if you are coming
 2) Roughly how long you think it will take you.
3) If you are running with someone so I can start you together.  If any family or friends want to join in that is fine.
4) What time you are available to start from.
5) if you want a shorter run I can arrange a different start point.

Group One please come and join in....the plan is to have a second group leaving from the Caravan Park (2.5) miles too. I will need numbers for this as well please.

Oh.....food and drinks in the George afterwards....
