Hi all,
You are invited to run in the Jog Scotland Mid Argyll 'Wee Puffer' run on Wednesday 2nd May.
We have organised this for our Jog Scotland members to compliment the Crinan Puffer 8.5 mile run on Sunday April 29th as we thought that there are a number of you who would like to have been involved in the race but felt maybe not quite ready for the full 8.5 miles just yet.
Therefore the Wee Puffer will run from Dunardry to Crinan Harbour which is about 3.5 miles.
We must make it clear though that is just a Jog Scotland fun run to mark the end of our winter/spring season and is not a formal event or race.
It is only open to existing Jog Scotland members and we must ask that if you are not from one of the Lochgilphead Wednesday/Thursday groups that you supply us with your Jog Scotland membership number before the day or unfortunately we won't be able to let you take part.
We want to add a bit more realism to the run and therefore we will time it from start to finish and supply each finisher with their own Wee Puffer time and to help with this each runner will get a number to wear.
Now to the really exciting news! each person taking part will get a 'Wee' goody bag with a memento to mark the occasion. Also any of our Jog Scotland members who have done the big race at the weekend will also get the same goody bag!

In order to ensure that we have the right amount of goody bags and
so that we can start to plan transport please can you email Matthew at matthew.watkiss@live.co.uk
by Wednesday 27th April to confirm if you will be coming along. Please
use Matthew's @live address as shown rather than the more normal work
address just so we can work on numbers on the evenings at home.
We really do
hope you will be able to make it and think that this will be a great evening to
test your progress to date either by completing the distance or setting
yourself a time to beat in the future.
The evening is
completely open to Jog Scotland members who will have already done the Crinan
Puffer 8.5 and in fact we actively encourage you to come along and support your
other Jog Scotland buddies and of course you will get your own goody bag for
good measure!
Finally,
to help cover the costs we are asking for a one off contribution of £3 instead
of your normal £1 session donation.
Really
hope that you will come along,
(The
initial instructions for the run are set out below but we will send them out
again by email before the night and talk you through it again before we start.)
All the best
and please email as soon as you can if you want to run!
Matt and Liz
Instructions
You will need
to make your own way to Dunardry and park at the canal side car park on the
right hand side of the road a little further along from the Forestry walks
car park. We will have a race briefing from this canal side car park
at 6.10pm.
We will start the run at 6.30pm sharp from the mile stone near to Dunardry.
At the finish we will have cool down session, hand out the goody bags and give you your time. Hopefully we will have arranged a few cars to drive us back to the start (volunteers please!)
As this is not a race and only a normal-(ish) Jog Scotland night, there will not be marshals along the route and so you will be responsible for getting from the start to the finish in a safe manner, there is one road to cross at Bellanoch and so we ask you to use your common sense and cross safely at this point.

The route is
relatively flat but the track varies in surface and can be a bit gravely in
places.
We also ask that you be considerate to other canal users especially when overtaking (please let other users know you are approaching).
If you have to
drop out along the route please call Matt on 07970 811159 to let him know how
you are and we will work out the best way to get you back to your car/home.
