News and Views

All groups going really well now, it is great to see so many people out, about and joining in. We are still hoping to get some more beginners starting at the 6pm Tuesday group so if you know someone who is swithering please reassure them that the block has not really got going yet. Lots of ideas for cross training this week with Alison leading some kettle bell sessions, it is really important to strengthen and support your core muscles to maintain a good strong posture and stance to keep running on. Anyone wanting to borrow some kettle bells let me know as I have two that belong to the group up for grabs. Those who are doing the 50 x5 challenge are sticking to it in fantastic form with a variety of cross training and even some running from time to time. This weekend the cross training included skiing, surfing, open water swimming, cycling both on road and off...well done all...more than half way there! For those looking for a challenge of their own there are several races coming up.

Crinan Puffer

Great week for the group with a really good attendance at all groups. The beginners group planned for last week had a no show so we are aiming again for this week. alison will be leading the Advanced beginners this Tuesday with Fee taking the beginners. Alsion has incorporated a kettle bells session into her planning and so if you have any spare ones please bring them along. Otherwise we have some to spare/share. The 50x5 challengers are really keeping at it with several topping off their week with the Crinan Puffer. This is an 8.5 miler along the canal banks, this year Linda, Fiona, Paul, Toby and Alison took part and there was some fantastic running from all! The results are not in yet, Toby came 7th but I shall post the rest of the times when they come in. Massive well done to all!

Easter Break

There are some fantastic efforts being made at the moment with the 50x5 challenge being taken up by quite a few jogscotland members who are walking, running, cycling, yoga-ing and generally exercising for 30 minutes or 5k per day so well done to you all!! The summer session begins next week with a new beginners block running on the Tuesdays alongside an advanced beginners course. So, come along on a Tuesday and choose the session you feel most like, a wee reinforcement of the walk-jog or something a little more challenging. You can choose the session most fitting to you on the night, everyone welcome whatever their ability. Please spread the word, the more the merrier! Looking forward to seeing everyone back to the regular groups next week with the Friday group back on at 9am. With the lighter nights we shall be trying to get onto the trails around and about Inveraray as much as possible.....
