What a gorgeous night...and we all started off so chilly and cold...not for long!! Thank you all for your company and well done to all who completed all or part of the 7x5k challenge. We have had seven days of collectively rowing, walking, cycling, running and even circuiting our way to the 5k per day. Excellent!!

Lots of stuff and last nights session

Fabulous turnout tonight especially following such a grim forecast....but the drenching was minor and the sprints fantastically fast and sustained. Welcome back to Winter outdoor circuits! Thank you all. Following unanimous agreement last night I have sent a donation from us to the Islay jogscotland for their Glow run for Ciara.

Glow in The Dark

Fabulous turnout last night at The glow run/walk. We were joined by fellow runners and walkers from Ormsary jogscotland, Islay jogscotland, Mid Argyll jogscotland and members of the local community. All routes were slightly soggy underfoot but the skies were clear and enthusiasm strong. Whilst the runners circumnavigated the Royal Burgh the walkers did a fantastic job on their two mile walk raising spirits and collecting donations for THe Mid Argyll Chemotherapy Unit. I am so grateful to everyone who helped from the participants with their monetary and culinary donations  (if you ask for cake in Argyll...you get cake!!) to the leaders, sweepers and those who stayed behind to ready the soup and cakes. Special thanks to Jacs and Inveraray primary for allowing us the use of the school dining hall and kitchen. See you all Next Year!!

Tin Farm 5

A great day on Sunday at local cross country race at Ormsary, organised to raise money for local causes...always wet, always muddy and always fun! This year was no exception with several puddles deep enough to warrant a scene in the Vicar of Dibley but hey once you are wet you are wet! The tide level meant the trek over the stones and seaweed was rewarded by a very, very small amount of firm sand amongst yet more stones. The inveraray jogscotties were thinner on the ground this year but I think our yellow T shirts held their own against the more plentiful Campbeltown blue ones. Toby put in a fabulous run incorporating a small fall at the top of the hill when checking to see just where the opposition were, he held the lead the whole way round, only threatened slightly at the end by eventual second place winner from the blue shirt brigade. Father and daughter team Freya and Garret had a good run too on Freya's first time in this event and she stormed home through the mud and flying down those hills which defeated Mum Fiona somewhat behind. As always Rosie's determination came to the fore and she finished in good time and smiling (eventually..) Well done all.

Results
Toby 34.34 1st in category (MS) 1st overall
Garret 45.24 14th (Mv) 33 o/a (pacing Freya)
Freya 45.24 1st (FJ) 34 o/a
Fee 48.21 6th (FV) 45 o/a
Rosie 52.36 2nd (FJ) 58 o/a

What dedication last night! The first really cold winters night and we had a fabulous turnout! Hardcore runners one and all. Ailish and Karen flew the flag for the 6pm group with a mile or so of jog and spinets. Time to test the Glow 3 mile route out for the 7pm group followed by some short sprints and agility exercises making the distance 3.89. Hope you all got dried out and warmed up quickly! Thanks for your company.

Glow in the Dark run takes part next Friday from the Primary school with cakes and soup afterwards at the School. All welcome to attend the walk or runs (3 and 4 miles) but entirely at own risk. Starting at 18.00hrs, you WILL get muddy and hand/head torches essential. Hope to see as many as possible there to raise money for the local Chemotherapy Unit in LGH.
