Mile upon Mile

Lots of miles covered this week starting with 10k each for Toby and Fee at the Vale of Leven Event which wrapped up the Polaroid Series for this Year. Fee was 51.34 and Toby 36.24 making him first jr and also first jr over all the four races. The unofficial Monday group did a 10k around the Leicann Route...not an easy run! Tuesday Group held their heads up high with beginners doing a brisk 2.66 miles and the Advanced Group a Fartleck and run session of about 4 miles. Thursday was cooler but not for long as we took off for a "see how far you can go in 1/2 an hour challenge". Five miles was the pre-imposed limit and all were back from this or the four mile option in well under the hour. As per e mails etc the Friday group will be held if there is an interest in attendance. Please e mail or Facebook by Thursday evening so I can arrange a leader.

Details for the End Of Session Run are as the below post. Please come along and join us if you can. there is a route for everyone with 2.5 miles, 4 miles and the Biggy 7.5. Anyone from any group is very welcome, please let me know so we can start to organise transport and book The George.

Furnace to Inveraray or bust (and the alternatives!!)

End of session run followed by a meal and relax in the George

Route one Furnace to Inveraray 7.5 miles starting at 6.30pm (you can start at 6 if you want a bit more time).

Route two Claonairigh to Inveraray 4 miles starting at 7.15

Route three Argyll Caravan Park to Inveraray aprox 2.5 miles starting at 7.35 or so

All three routes end at The George where we have a meal, and a wee round up of the year etc. The kitty can't stretch to buying the meal but there is usually a drink. It is great to have as many folk as possible to this. We need to start getting organised for lifts etc so if you can manage to sort these between yourselves that would be good ie obliging partners to drop off in Furnace etc! This is not a race or high pressure run just a steady pace and a chat. Any worries please contact me.

A wee while since a round up of news and events. There is a small flurry of competing going on with Toby taking part in the polaroid Series of road races in Glasgow. With two down and two to go he is pleased with his times (37.01 and 35.27). The next race is Thursdays Dumbarton event and then the Vale of Leven on the following Sunday (9th) . I am planning to do the 10k so if anyone wants a lift they are more than welcome. there is a 10k and a 5k available. Have to be ready to race by 9.50 so let me know!

Although the Tarbert 10k is now full (think there may be places in the 5k) there is still the Oban race series to go at.
Garret and Alison did the MOK 1/2 marathon on a cloudy muggy Sunday and Fiona the 10k. The atmosphere was, as always great. The weekly groups are continuing to thrive with a return to trail running with the better weather and lighter nights. The Advanced Beginners are...well advancing well and starting to hill sprint and stretch that training to the next level. the beginners are doing well too with three or four new members so well done all! A big welcome back to Jillian who has returned after and enforced absence.. Great to have you back Jillian. The intermediate group is also starting to stretch out the distance and intensity of training and there are several separate personal challenges going on there!
